CSW vs Waring

CSW faced Waring for the second time this season at an away game. CSW began by controlling the ball, and keeping play in the middle third of the field. Waring showed determination, and continued to look for an opportunity. Several times Waring moved the ball towards the Gryphon's net, and were turned back by strong defensive play from Maddie Rimer '19, Ellie Breshnahan '19, and Kaylee Law '19. Waring's scoring chance came later in the first half, as Waring capitalized on a break in mid-field defense with a breakaway goal.

The second half began with Waring taking several key shots - all turned away by keeper Julia Bingel '19. Eventually, one well placed shot made it by Julia, and Waring scored their second goal. Ignoring fatigue (no subs), CSW chose not to give up, and accelerated their offensive play. Tamara Kohlberg-Nadar '18 ignited the team and lead the Gryphon's rally. The CSW team took more shots in the last fifteen minutes of the game than they had previously taken in the game. Fortitude, determination and teamwork characterized CSWs closing minutes. The clock ran out before Cambridge was able to score, though the determination demonstrated was a definate victory for the Gryphons.

Final score: CSW 0 - Waring 2
