Boys' Varsity Tennis Edged by Dexter School

Gil Aronson
The Boys’ Varsity Tennis team put forth an outstanding effort this afternoon, falling just short on a 3rd set "Super Tiebreaker" against the Dexter School in Brookline. Today's match was certainly challenging because Dexter's league plays collegiate rules with 6 singles matches and 3 doubles teams competing.

CSW jumped out to quick 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles. The teams of Surya Rajamani '22 and Captain Isaac Frankel '20, Captain Jack Zhang '20 and Bennet Kracz '20, and Orion Douglas '21 and Leo Deng '20 were all victorious.  Going into singles, playing well at #1 singles Surya Rajamani won in straight sets. Playing #2 singles Issac Frankel, #3 singles, Jack Zhang, #5 singles, Bennet Kracz and #6 singles Roger Hortsmann ’22 all played well, but came up a bit short.

The match was tied 4-4 going into #4 singles, where Orion Douglas gave it all he had to split the first two sets with his opponent and narrowly was edged 10-8 in the "Super Tiebreaker" which awarded the match to Dexter. A great effort was made by everyone this afternoon!

CSW will face BU Academy on Friday, April 26 at 4:15 at the Gann Academy courts.
