Ryogo Katahira'23 Appears on Nationally Televised Japanese Variety Show

Earlier this summer, Ryogo Katahira'23 appeared on a nationally televised program called "Hakase-chan" (roughly translated as: "Little Professor"). Hakase-chan is a Japanese variety show (TV Asahi).

Japanese variety shows are entertainment programs that are usually aired during prime time, aka Golden Time in Japan. Skip to 00:30 ti see Ryogo; his mother, Tamao Hosokawa appears at 04:30. Ryogo and his mom are descendants of a famous historical figure in Japan named Mitsuhide Akechi.

This figure lived during the Age of the Warring States (Sengoku Jidai) and is infamous for having killed his own master. Ryogo and his mom, a political journalist who has published a few books about this history, appear in this episode to debunk that notion of Mitsuhide being a traitor.
