April 7: Tea Culture, Pyramids, Club Meetings & Concert
Beatrice S. '24
Hi everyone!
Beatrice here. This morning we attended a class about Taiwanese tea culture. We learned about different kinds of tea, their uses, how to brew them, and the snacks that go with them, plus several new vocabulary words.
After the tea class, we ate lunch together and headed to our next class, where we learned about triangles and pyramids. In this class, we each created a puzzle set out of thin cardboard. These puzzle sets can be arranged to form three pyramids! The teacher compared the pyramid shape to zongzi, which is a food made out of glutinous rice and various fillings. We split off after class, with some students (me, Hannah, Maya, and Jina) going to cooking club, and others (Camila, Luka, Mabel, and Deniz) going to dance club.
Since tomorrow is HSNU’s school anniversary, there was a concert tonight that most of us went to. The performances included dance, singing, short skits, and more, and they were all incredible! We got some food at 7-11 afterwards (Maya and I found vegetarian tuna onigiri) and walked around before taking the MRT home.
Good morning / Good night,
Beatrice
