Global Summer Academy Returns to CSW
This summer, after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CSW relaunched its Global Summer Academy, an immersion program for international students looking to experience progressive education firsthand.
Twenty-one students and two chaperones from Taoyuan Municipal Wu-Ling Senior High School arrived at Logan airport on Friday, June 26, for a two week stay at CSW. While on campus, students spent their school days studying Astronomy with Rose Rosenthal, The Art of Science of Motion and 3D modeling with Chris Whittaker, and Conversational English and Introduction to Academic Writing and Reading with Carmen Leahy. Each afternoon and on the weekends, the group participated in a local activity or tour, including kayaking with Paddle Boston, touring Salem and learning about its historical significance, attending their first Red Sox game, and walking the Freedom Trail. They also had a special invitation from the Director of Education Division, Cynthia Huang, to visit the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston. CSW alumni Ashley Ho ‘21 and Davis Ceballos ‘23 cared for our students in the dorms and beyond.
CSW is honored to continue this partnership with Wu-Ling, both for our students who traveled to Taiwan and for our guests that visited us this summer. We look forward to our future collaborations.
