CSW's Ultimate A-team Tops CCA
The Cambridge School of Weston's Ultimate Frisbee A-team faced off against Covenant Christian Academy on Wednesday, April 29 in Peabody, MA.
CSW started this game with some uncharacteristic sloppy play on offense, dropping several discs and making some errant throws. However, they quickly regrouped and set their ship straight. After trading goals for the first four points of the game, Uruk-Hai finally stepped up their offense to break away from CCA in the middle of the first half of play.
Co-captain and senior handler/cutter Jacob Arons '15 and reliable handler threat Aidan FitzGerald '17 both had fantastic first halves, each scoring two goals and throwing two assists.
Freshman handler Max Bowen '18 displayed his throwing skills throughout the game, making several strong downfield throws and quick dump cuts in order to reset the disc. CSW worked both their Horizontal and Vertical Stacks throughout the second half of play, moving the disc down the field with great ease and patience compared to the first half of play. Max, and handler/co-captain Chris MacFadyen '15, found cutter Gus Parks '16 on several scores in the second half of play.
CSW closed out the game on a strong note, securing the 15-8 victory and improving their record to 4-1 on the season.
