This past weekend, over 100 student delegates from close to 10 area schools came together at The Cambridge School of Weston campus for the first-ever CSW Model United Nations Conference, affectionately known as CSW MUN.

This event was the culmination of over a year’s worth of effort and planning from a deeply committed group of students intent on taking their studies in debate, diplomacy, and foreign affairs to a new level. Topics discussed at Saturday’s event included issues like nuclear proliferation, the South American drug trade, and the refugee crisis.

Model UN is a student-run organization; it was up to the students to come up with their own discussion topics, drawing from both current and historical events. Students worked hard organizing the complex logistics involved in planning an event of this scale. They organized themselves into committees focused on coordination, content, marketing, facilities, and finance in order to pull off this successful event.
