Two Earn National Merit Honors

Congratulations to National Merit Semifinalist Tommy Shenefield '19 and Commended Student Sascha Deng '19.
CSW seniors Sascha Deng and Tommy Shenefield have both been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) for their outstanding performances on the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants.

Tommy has been named a National Merit Semifinalist. Sascha has been honored as a commended student.

Over 1.6 million juniors in about 22,000 high schools entered the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). Approximately 16,000 students have been named semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. Roughly 34,000 commended students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
