Anti-Semitism vs. Legitimate Criticism with Guest Speaker Maria Ntourlia
Speaker Maria Ntourlia leads a session on the difference between Anti-Semitism vs. Legitimate Criticism when it comes to talking about Israel.
Students, teachers, and parents from the community gathered at lunch to learn from guest Israel educator Maria Ntourlia at an event hosted by CSW's Jewish Culture Club and Interfaith club.
Maria Ntourlia was born and raised in Athens, Greece where she got her Bachelors Degree in Political Science and Public Administration. She moved to Israel for her master's degree and studied Diplomacy and Conflict resolution at IDC Herzliya. She has worked as a Legal Adviser to the Greek Permanent Mission to the United Nations and, among others, as a Researcher at the Abba Eban Chair of International Diplomacy, in Israel, under the former Israel Ambassador to the United Nations, Ron Prosor.
Ntourlia engaged the group in a presentation about the distinguishment between anti-semitism and legitimate criticism of the state of Israel. At a time when anti-semitism is so pertinent in America, this lunch talk provided perspective on what anti-Semitism can look like globally. Ntourlia also equipped students with tools to help them have productive conversations about controversial topics, both about Israel and otherwise. By speaking both from her personal experiences working in politics and living in Israel, as well as speaking from an academic perspective, Ntoulia sparked conversation and thought about Israel and it's complexities within CSW.

CSW Robotics Has Best Season on Record
Read MoreCSW’s Robotics Team had a historic season this year. At its first competition in Revere, MA, the team finished qualification matches in 10th place out of 38 teams, earning them the privilege of being an alliance captain for the first time ever. They would go on to place 4th overall, solidifying a spot in the next round of competition in New Hampshire. Here, the team finished 27th out of 40 teams. These results are the best the team has seen in the history of the program.
