Students Perform with American Repertory Theater
Christine Cogswell ’19 and Lev Goldman ’20 perform in Proclamation 6: Unite!, an original production through Harvard’s American Repertory Theater.
Earlier this fall, Christine Cogswell ’19 and Lev Goldman ’20 performed in Proclamation 6: Unite!, an original production through Harvard’s American Repertory Theater (ART). Lev and Christine are two of fourteen students selected through written application and interview to participate in the production. Students got the chance to work directly with ART artists and Harvard professors to write scenes, create characters, and bring the show to life at the Oberon theater November 3-4, 2018.
The play follows a group of teens living in a residential treatment center as they work in support of one-another to confront personal struggles and move forward in life. The piece was conceptualized around the theme of unity, exploring “the differences that divide, the ties that bind, and how we build bridges between the two,” the show description says.
“This was my first time working in a professional theater, and it was incredible to see what happens behind the scenes to make the shows happen,” Christine says. “Our performance venue, OBERON, was also amazing — the space was like a playground. We could climb on the bar and behind seating booths, stand on tables, and my character, in particular, spent a lot of time on the balcony. I also am so grateful to have worked with such a wonderful creative team. I learned so much from our director, and she's someone I really look up to.”

CSW Robotics Has Best Season on Record

At its first competition in Revere, MA, the team finished qualification matches in 10th place out of 38 teams, earning them the privilege of being an alliance captain for the first time ever. They would go on to place 4th overall, solidifying a spot in the next round of competition in New Hampshire. Here, the team finished 27th out of 40 teams. These results are the best the team has seen in the history of the program.
