For the CSW Bookshelf

Two CSW alums recently had books published that would make great additions to any CSW bookshelf!

CSW alumna Gillian Ice '86 (PhD, MPH) currently works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Medicine at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Working with her faculty colleagues at Heritage College, Gillian recently had a book published by the publishing house Rowman & Littlefield, detailing the trials and tribulations of field research among young academics.

In “Disasters in Field Research: Preparing For and Coping With Unexpected Events,”  Gillian and her co-authors, Darna L. Dufour and Nancy J. Stevens, offer advice on how to handle some of the most common challenges faced by researchers abroad.

Former CSW student Sarah Rosen-Webb (Class of '62) recently had a collection of short stories published.

Working with her London writing colleagues, 'The Night Writers,' Sarah had three of her own stories included in a recent anthology publication. She reached out to CSW because two of her stories are set 'west of Boston,' bringing back memories of her former high school days.

Sarah's current writing group 'The Night Writers,' are a group of nine aspiring authors who met on a creative writing course and would scribble furiously to the background of Northern Line trains rattling past at the nearby station. Their recent publication, Encounters, is a collection of short stories which encompasses the panoply of writing styles and the whole business of living, whether it’s real, imaginary or simply wishful thinking!

Encounters The Night Writers (ISBN 976-178456-065-2) is available online at www.fastprint.net/bookshop or search 'Encounters The Night Writers' under 'Books' via Amazon.
