Ultimate A-team Dominant vs. CHCH

The CSW Ultimate A-team visited nearby opponents Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall on a windy Friday afternoon, April the 24th.

This game proved to be one of the best of the young season for Uruk-Hai. Having a few days of practicing and playing in windy conditions earlier in the week, CSW came out with an offensive patience that would prove too much for CHCH to handle.

Sophomore handler/cutter Owen McCarter '17 had a first half to remember, tallying two goals and two assists, as well as an elusive 'callahan' goal, having rushed down on a deep pull and caught the disc in CSW's attacking endzone while on defense. It was Uruk-Hai's first 'callahan' of the 2015 season. Congrats Owen!

All of CSW's handlers worked the disc with smart throws and fakes, making great decisions despite a strong Waltham wind. CSW had less than six turnovers in the first half of play, a half which saw Uruk-Hai sprint out to a 8-0 lead. Liam Kaufer '16 continued his fine cutting play and set the tone for the rest of the Horizontal Stack cutters.

In the second half, CSW's defensive efforts did not let up. Of particular note was the great marking of CSW's players, limiting the Chargers' breakside throws and forcing them in on their cuts. Will Blumenthal '16 was dominant on the defensive end, sticking with his man throughout several long points and accounting for several caused turnovers.

CSW ended the game by a score of 15-3, not taking their foot off the gas pedal and never letting down their amazing defensive pressure. Kudos to CSW on a game well played!
