Lise's Lens: March 2, 2023

Lise writes about representation at the Oscars, a new novel by a CSW staff member, and the return of our students from their Mod abroad in France.

WHAT I’M READING

  • It is exciting to read that a record setting number of Asian actors received oscar nominations this year. It’s been a long time coming. All of these films are on my “to watch” list. I’m hoping I can find some time during Spring Break to catch up.

WHAT I’M THINKING/TALKING ABOUT

WHAT I'M WATCHING/LISTENING TO

  • I am listening to our students and chaperones share stories from their Mod Abroad to France. I am so proud of our French scholars and excited for them that they were able to engage in this potentially life changing experience. Be sure to also watch senior Isaiah’s Instagram Takeover Tuesday for an insider’s view of their experience.
WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE

Students in the Instrumental Ensemble put on a lovely performance of Anton Dvorak Serenade Op. 44 today at lunch. It was especially exciting to watch Lucas '25 conducting.
