CSW Boys Tennis Came Up Short Against Beaver

The CSW Boys Tennis team made a big impact against Beaver Country Day School.
The team had good wins against the team that had a success record in their league and CSW showed we can stay with big teams.

Sophomore Noah had the most difficult match of the meet. The opponent was skilled in every aspect of the game: serves, net and baseline shots to finish the match, 1-8.

GLOBAL SCORE: 0-1

It was the first time senior Harvey playing with Freshman Julien. They had a difficult match against a good double team who didn't commit many errors. 2-8.

GLOBAL SCORE: 0-2

Sophomore Pharrell, at #1 singles, had his best match yet this season (the other notable win was against Dexter.) He controlled the tempo of the match. The opponent had an excellent serve and overall good ball striking skills. Pharrell was not intimidated and kept his cool and confident is in own skills to over a close match, combining strong first serves, mixing up a variety of balls to make the opponent uncomfortable. He won 8-5.

GLOBAL SCORE: 1-2

Sophomore and captain Jared, at #2 singles, played his best match this season, mixing up with ground strokes, slice shots and lobs to make his opponent guessing and chase down balls all over the court. Although it was a tight match, toward the second half he slowly pulled away for a win 8-4.

GLOBAL SCORE: 2-2

Double #2 - Loss by default - Player absent.

GLOBAL SCORE: 2-3

Overall the team played better than the previous matches this season. We look forward to a rematch against CHCH tomorrow, Friday. See you there and thanks for the support!
