"At CSW, I have ownership over my education. I get to explore so many different subjects and areas of interest. Being here has taught me so many things about myself—and about the world."

OF ALL THE CLASSES YOU'VE TAKEN HERE, WHICH HAVE BEEN YOUR FAVORITES?

Writing Foundations
My teacher really helped me strengthen my writing and walked me through the process of layering essay. She also taught me so many things about my own style of writing and how to incorporate that into each paper.

U.S. History Overview
I love history, so learning more about the background of the United States was so interesting to me. We really went beyond typical textbook-based learning to discover the story of our past. I never had a boring day in this class.

Dissent in World History
This class made me more aware about political uprisings—both in the past and present—all over the world, including in the U.S. and China, where I saw so many interesting patterns. I learned what kinds of actions prove to be successful, and which prove to be detrimental to a given cause.

WHAT HAVE BEEN SOME OF YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS AT CSW?

  • I was so excited when I found out I was elected to serve as an assembly coordinator. This was my first major leadership position, and getting elected showed that CSW and my peers believed in me. It really made me feel like I belonged at CSW.

  • I will always remember my first few days here at the orientation for new students. Everyone was so welcoming—it really eased my nerves and made me feel at home. I met some of my closest friends during those days.

  • Every year during All Boarders Weekend, each dorm is tasked with putting on a mini play based on a classic fairy tale, but with an updated twist and some challenges we have to incorporate. We call it "Fractured Fairytales," and it's a CSW tradition. My dorm spent the whole weekend working to make sure our play was the best. It was such an amazing bonding experience.

HOW HAS YOUR TIME AT CSW SHAPED YOU AS A PERSON?
CSW has helped me become more self-aware, and has helped me understand so many things about the world as well.
