Performing Arts

Our music, dance, and theatre faculty empower students of every skills level to discover their voice through both coursework and co-curricular opportunities. We create art together and as individuals.

Our campus performing spaces include both a mainstage and a black box theatre; a state-of-the-art recording studio, music practice rooms, and recital hall; and dance studios for both individuals and groups.

Whether it's our Fall or Spring Productions, the annual Rock/Pop Ensemble, one-act plays int he Student Directors Workshop, or our annual Dance Concert, our students take on nearly every aspect of each production, from the acting, dancing, and musical performance to the directing and costume and lighting design that make each show a reality.

CSW—a gender-inclusive day and boarding school for grades 9-12—is a national leader in progressive education. We live out our values of inquiry-based learning, student agency, and embracing diverse perspectives in every aspect of our student experience. Young people come to CSW to learn how to learn and then put what they learn into action—essential skills they carry into their futures as doers, makers, innovators, leaders, and exceptional humans who do meaningful work in the world.
